I'd like to give a big thanx to all the cool people who've made and make Cobzweb possible! It is too many to list, but you know who you are, and so do we. It all gives me a chance to do some of the ultimate metal rhythm guitar riffs of all time. As well as writing and recording the two Cobzweb discs. I grew up playing guitar and drums to AC/DC, J. P. and Iron Maiden (or trying to anyway.) After that it was all about metal guitar for me when Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Metal Church came out in the mid 80's. At the time we were sort of outcasts musically for playing this progressive metal, but it was what we loved and still love. So that's what we do-Classic Metal. Rock-on!

I was born and raised on the North side of Madison, WI.  The first music I appreciated was Marty Robbins and Conway Twitty  (since it was all our dad let us listen to).  In 5th grade, I heard Judas Priest and AC/DC and discovered there was life outside of Hee Haw.  At 13,  my brother brought home Metallica's Ride The Lightning and I thought it was "punk rock, crap".  By 14,  I was hooked and Kirk Hammet was to me what an axe was to Lizzy Borden.  At this time,  I had an ear for Metal Church and as the say...the rest is history.  I met Cobzweb in 1987,  we jammed a few times but nothing became of it.  Now at 38,  we are doing what we should have done 20 years ago, better late than never.  I currently live in Sun Prairie, WI with my wife and kids and I have a real appreciation for what life has to offer us all.  Family, friends, love and music is my recipe for a good life.

As far as being a drummer goes, I'm probably one of the luckiest around. Having two brothers to jam with since I was fifteen was a huge advantage. I've never had to look for a band. I also feel lucky to have grown up with the musical influences I did; such as Alex Van Halen and Neil Peart in my earlier years, then onto Lars Ulrich, Dave Lombardo, and Kirk Arrington. Then eventually onto the latest great drummers like Mike Portnoy. Another really cool thing I get to do in Cobzweb is write guitar riffs that my brother then "metalizes." They've always been totally open to my ideas for the band. Now that we have a stand out guitar player, Will, and a bass player Tyson (that just rips it up), our new line up is a metal powerhouse.
